The digital Competence Wheel

The Digital Competence wheel is our tried and tested original framework, designed to giver users a broad assessment of their digital competence levels, as well as concrete inspiration for how to grow.

With its accessible approach to  digital concepts, The Digital Competence Wheel is where most of our partners and users begin their digital journey. Many use it as a foundation they can build upon to create the perfect competence model for their project.

The Digital Competence Wheel is currently available in 7 languages:

Digital Compentence for Educators

As the teaching professions face rapidly changing demands, educators need an increasingly broad and sophisticated set of digital competences than before.

We have two frameworks to support educators in their digital capabilities:

DigCompEdu is a framework developed by the EU that allows educators a to reflect on their strengths and weaknesses in using digital technologies in their teaching. With 6 different competence areas that cover both professional, pedagogical and educational competences, The focus of the tool is to support and encourage teachers in using digital tools to enhance and innovate education.

In collaboration with Danish educational institutions, we've also developed The Digital Competence Wheel for Teachers. This is a rework of our original wheel aimed at giving educators a broad, accessible overview of their competencies.

Digital study competences

Being a competent student today requires a specific digital skill set. You need to know how to find the right information online for assignments, how to create good presentations and practice critical evaluation when reviewing source material.

That's why we've created The Digital Study Competences framework. Have your students complete the assessment and become more aware of how they can become better digital students. Its currently available in both English and Danish. This framework is aimed at students aged 16 and above.

If you have younger students aged 12-15, we've also developed The Digital Competence Wheel for Pupils. Currently, it's available in Danish.

Get Inspired

One of MapUs greatest assets is it's versatility. You can essentially build whatever competence framework is relevant to you, and MapUs will provide the features to make it comprehensive and engaging.

In collaboration with our partners, we've developed frameworks that cover a wide range of digital areas of life. These are currently available in Danish, but can easily be translated.

  • Digital Competencies of the Future: A framework that maps digital competencies relevant to the work in local government.
  • Digital Start: Together with the Danish Agency for Digitisation we developed a framework to encourage highschoolers to use digital public services
  • Strong on the Internet: This framework, created in collaboration with multiple libraries, is aimed at strengthening the digital competencies of 13-14 year-olds.
