MapUs Groups

Evt. lille intro

Create Groups

Before you begin mapping your users, it is important to think about how you want to segment the data in your organization. This is where the group function comes in.

The MapUs group function allows you to divide your respondents into specific groupings. It is a great way of segmenting the collected data, because the groups you create are highly useful when working with your data in the report module afterwards. For example, for some it would make sense to create different groups for different departments or teams within the organization, while others may need to create groups according to the respondents’ internal positions. However you choose to segment your respondents, the group function makes it easy and comprehensible for you to work with your data.

When you create a group, you generate a unique survey link that gives your respondents easy and direct access to the survey. At the same time, the survey link is your way to ensure that a person’s assessment is connected to the right group. You will need this later on when you dive into the report module. Dividing your respondents into groups also allows you to write a custom welcome message or result email for that group only, which makes your communication more relevant and relatable to that group.

Admins on all levels have access to the group function that enables them to create groups as well as utilize the groups’ collected data. HERE You can read about how the different types of admins can create groups.

Compare teams

Besides getting valuable insights into your groups’ digital competences and digital maturity, you can use the group function in a number of different ways. The most common ways, however, are comparing teams and tracking progress.

By using the benchmark report function in our report module, you can compare teams - or other types of groups - and this way get important insights into how those teams’ competence scores compare to one another. The MapUs benchmark reports are both visual and interactive, making it easy for you to determine exactly where your groups differ and figure out where your focus should be in your digitization efforts. Track progress

If you want to track a group’s progress, this is easily done in the report module as well. Let’s say you want to know how a specific group has developed over the course of six months. Here, you start off by making sure that you have had your respondents run through the survey twice so you actually have the data needed to track their progress. For example, you could distribute the survey in the spring and again in the fall of that same year, and then use that data to see how they have progressed during that year.

There are two ways to which you can track your groups’ progress:

  1. Create two groups, fx. one for spring and one for fall, and create a benchmark report. This way works similar to when you want to benchmark two different groups. But, instead of benchmarking fx. two different teams, you benchmark the same group but at different points in time.
  2. Use the same group to collect your team’s responses both times and create a benchmark report based on the dates where the group has taken the survey. Here, you are going to have each respondent’s result appear twice in the same group. In the report module, you are then going to create two datasets. But, instead of listing two different groups, one in each dataset, you select the same group for each dataset and segment them on the dates instead.
