How to integrate your own ideas into MapUs

This is a quick and practical step-by-step guide on how to seamlessly integrate your own ideas about digital transformation into your MapUs platform by creating your own unique content. 

Part 1 conceptualizing your framework

Before you begin actually building your framework in MapUs, you need to map out the structure of the framework - which competences and competence areas do you want to measure, and how do you define them?

Step 1: Define your competences and competence areas

As competences are the core of MapUs, you first have to decide on what competences and competence areas (overarching categories you order your competences by) you want to build your framework around.

What to do:

  • Name you competences and competence areas
  • Describe them in concrete terms. Keep it short and sweet.

Step 2: Construct the competences and competence areas

Next, you need to select the questions you want to be the parameters you measure your competences upon.

 

What to do:

  • One competence (and competence area) at a time, look at the questions in the original MapUs questionnaire and note which ones you feel is connected to the given competence.
  • If any questions are missing for you, or some of our 54 questions turn out not to be relevant for you, this is the time to note that as well.

Part 2 Create a Beta version

When you’ve completed the conceptualization of your framework, it’s time to actualize it in MapUs and run a beta test to make sure everything is working smoothly and to your liking. 

Step 3: Create and input your content in the survey builder

This is where you get to bring your ideas to life inside MapUs. Using the building blocks of the survey builder module, you can easily build your own framework.

Step 4: Run a beta test on your taget group and evaluate the results

We highly recommend that you perform a beta test of your framework before officially launching it in your organization. This will allow to collect feedback on the user experience, and give you the opportunity to fix any issues before you go live. 

Create a test group of your target audience and pay attention what their results say about the strength of the framework you’ve created.

What to ask yourself:

  • Do the users seem to understand the questions and the included examples?
  • Do the questions measure the competences in a meaningful way?
  • Are there any preliminary results that stand out and do they reveal any potential gaps in your framework?
